Areas of Practice: Mr. Melchione's representation of the firm's clients covers a wide range of issues, including chartering and field of membership, CUSO formation, contract review and negotiations, member accounts, corporate governance, E-commerce, employment law/personnel issues, executive compensation plans, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, real estate transactions, regulatory compliance, tax issues, bond/insurance defense, and crisis management. Education: Mr. Melchione received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1970, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with High Honors.  Mr. Melchione attended the University of California at Davis School of Law, and received his J.D. in 1974. Professional & Association Memberships: State Bar of California American Bar Association Member, Credit Union Committee of the American Bar Association Biography: Mr. Melchione is a partner at Styskal, Wiese & Melchione, LLP.  He is licensed to practice before the California Supreme Court, Federal District Court for the Central and Northern Districts, and the United States Tax Court.  He is a member of the Credit Union Committee of the American Bar Association, has been an adjunct professor at Glendale College of Law teaching commercial law, and is on the faculty of Western CUNA Management School.  Mr. Melchione has also served on the Commissioner's Credit Union Advisory Committee. Mr. Melchione's representation of the firm's credit union clients primarily focuses on new and proposed laws and regulations affecting the credit union industry, complex corporate and credit union matters, fidelity bond issues, and credit union field of membership issues. Mr. Melchione is a frequently requested speaker and teacher at regional and national credit union industry events.  Mr. Melchione's "forward thinking" philosophy, good business sense, excellent reputation, and fervent loyalty to the credit union industry have resulted in his wide recognition as one of the country's preeminent credit union attorneys.
